Hobby Boss 80219 1/72 Grumman F4F-3 Wildcat

This F4F-3 Wildcat builds up easily with my 13 year old making it in just over an hour. Younger modelers will need just a little assistance from an adult. Parts are laid out well and beautifully packaged in the box, the canopy is clear, panel lines are reasonably fine, and the decals are crisp and in register. Importantly for young modelers the fuselage is a one piece mold (but includes enough cockpit detail at this scale - seat, headrest gunsight) so provides a solid basis for a quick and rewarding build. And the prop spins with just a child's breath, which is important for kids. The two colour schemes are appealing with either a flashy yellow winged version or navy blue camo version circa early 1942. More advanced modelers looking for a quick build will easily turn this into a pretty good replica within a day: would make a good holiday build. Pretty impressive so I'm going to have a go at one too.
