Metallic Details MDR14470 1/144 Republic P-43 Lancer Fighter Aircraft
The kit consists of highly detailed, high-quality 3D printed resin parts, a vacuformed cockpit canopy, and decals to decorate your model. All components are produced using modern manufacturing technologies to ensure accurate geometry, fine surface detail, and realistic scale appearance.
The Republic P-43 Lancer was an American single-seat fighter aircraft developed in the late 1930s by the Republic Aviation Corporation. Derived from the earlier Seversky fighter designs, the P-43 represented an important stage in the development that eventually led to the famous Republic P-47 Thunderbolt.
Powered by a Pratt & Whitney R-1830 Twin Wasp radial engine, the P-43 featured an all-metal construction, retractable landing gear, and a turbo-supercharger that provided good performance at high altitude. Although its overall capabilities were soon surpassed by newer fighter designs, the aircraft had respectable speed and altitude performance for its time.
The P-43 entered service in the early 1940s. While it saw only limited use with the United States Army Air Corps, a significant number were supplied to China, where they were employed in combat against Japanese forces. The aircraft was also used for reconnaissance and other secondary duties.
The Republic P-43 Lancer was produced in relatively small numbers, but remains historically significant as an important link between the pre-war Seversky fighters and the later P-47 Thunderbolt.
