Fujimi Castle-30 Shuri Shureimon (Completed Size 139 x 81mm)

Shureimon was originally constructed during the reign of King Sho Sei of the Second Sho Dynasty (1527-1555). At the time, it was formally known as Taikenmon, although the name Shureimon is now more commonly used.

The gate was designated a National Treasure in 1933, but was destroyed along with Shuri Castle during the Battle of Okinawa. The present Shureimon was reconstructed in 1958.
