Oura Church, officially known as the Church of the Twenty-Six Martyrs of Japan, is located in Nagasaki. Built in 1865, it is the oldest surviving Christian church building in Japan. It was constructed for foreign residents in the Nagasaki Foreign Settlement following the opening of Japan in the late Edo period.
The church was designated a National Treasure in 1933. After repairs to damage caused by the atomic bombing were completed, it was redesignated a National Treasure on 31 March 1953. In June 2018, it became part of the "Hidden Christian Sites in the Nagasaki Region", which was inscribed as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site.
