Fujimi TOKU - 96 EX-1 1/700 IJN Battleship Ise 1942 Special Version with Type 21 Radar

This special edition kit reproduces the battleship Ise as she appeared in May 1942, when she was fitted with an experimental radar system then under development. The radar remained installed when Ise participated in the Midway operation the following month.

Ise was later converted into an aviation battleship together with her sister ship Hyuga to help compensate for losses in Japan's aircraft carrier force. She subsequently participated in Operation Sho-Ichi-Go and survived without suffering a direct bomb hit, before eventually being heavily damaged and sunk in shallow water at Kure following attacks by US carrier aircraft.
