Fujimi KG-55 1/700 IJN Heavy Cruiser Ibuki
This 1/700 scale full-hull kit depicts Ibuki, the first ship of the modified Suzuya class, as she might have appeared if completed as a heavy cruiser during WWII. The kit combines existing Special Series tooling with newly tooled full-hull parts.
Kit Features:
- Unpainted model kit requiring assembly with glue and painting
- Full-hull configuration including the hull below the waterline
- Dedicated parts reproduce Ibuki's distinctive rear mast position and torpedo launcher arrangement
- Hull shape based on the later Mogami-class ships Suzuya and Kumano, with closed portholes reflecting late-war modifications
- Bridge fitted with Type 21 radar, 2 Type 22 radar sets, and E27 radar warning receiver
- Clear bridge windows and detailed Type 94 anti-aircraft fire-control directors
- Detailed bridge decks with grating and separate binoculars
- Narrow funnels reflecting the 10-boiler arrangement, with open funnel caps and separate steam pipes
- Dedicated quadruple torpedo launchers can be positioned in normal or firing configuration
- Detailed Kure Type No.2 Model 5 catapult
- Ibuki-specific rear mast with aircraft recovery crane and Type 13 radar
- Stern depth-charge racks and depth charges included
- Detailed two-piece 25mm triple, twin, and single anti-aircraft guns
- One-piece lower hull with detailed shaft brackets, eddy plates, twin balanced rudders, water intake/outlet details, enlarged bulges, and integrated bilge keels
- Includes 3 Zuiun reconnaissance seaplanes moulded in grey
- Includes 3 decal sheets with naval ensigns, national flags, aircraft markings, identification bands, stern ship names, mast markings, and draught markings
** This is an unpainted model kit requiring assembly and painting. Glue, paints, tools, and other modelling supplies are required and sold separately.
