Newly designed and carefully examined equipment parts have been incorporated. By implementing multiple slide mechanisms in the molds, the intricate details of the 1/700 scale have been faithfully reproduced. We are excited to present the newly refined Waterline series.
Originally constructed as a cargo ship for Kawasaki Kisen, this vessel was converted into a special-purpose seaplane tender in 1942 during the Pacific War. While carrying out transport missions, it was torpedoed twice by American submarines, but both attacks failed to detonate, allowing the ship to survive. However, in May 1945, it was sunk due to an aerial bombing.
This kit faithfully recreates the special-purpose seaplane tender "Kunikawa Maru" in 1/700 scale as a plastic model kit. The well-structured parts layout ensures simple assembly while maintaining accuracy. Newly designed equipment, such as twin-mounted 25mm machine guns and an aircraft catapult, have been added to enhance precision and detail.
