Meng LS023 1/48 Boeing F/A-18E Super Hornet "Golden Dragons"
The F/A-18E Super Hornet is a multirole carrier-based fighter developed by Boeing for the U.S. Navy. Greatly improved from the F/A-18A/C Hornet, it has evolved from a medium-sized carrier-based fighter focused on ground attack into a true multirole fighter capable of achieving air superiority while striking both ground and sea targets.
Strike Fighter Squadron 192 (VFA-192), nicknamed the "Golden Dragons", traces its origins to March 1945. The unit was redesignated as Strike Fighter Squadron 192 (VFA-192) in 1986. In March 2014, it began transitioning to the F/A-18E Super Hornet, which it continues to operate today. In November 2024, as part of Carrier Air Wing Two (CVW-2), VFA-192 was deployed aboard USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70). Since then, the "Golden Dragons" have operated extensively in the Red Sea, conducting missions to protect international shipping lanes against attacks by Houthi forces in Yemen.
This MENG LS-023 1/48 Boeing F/A-18E Super Hornet Golden Dragons model measures approximately 378mm long, 273mm wide, and 101mm high once assembled. It accurately reproduces the exterior features and details of the real aircraft. Flaps and slats can be assembled in either the retracted or deployed position, while the horizontal stabilisers and rudders remain movable. The cockpit and interior equipment are faithfully replicated, and the specially designed plug-in main pylons allow weapons to be changed with ease. The kit includes GBU-24 and GBU-16 laser-guided bombs, one U.S. Navy pilot figure, pre-cut stainless steel PE parts, and pre-cut painting masks. Two marking options are provided, featuring both high-visibility and low-visibility VFA-192 "Golden Dragons" paint schemes.
