The SM.82 was used by Italy and Germany during WWII for cargo transport, troop transport, paratroop operations, and bombing runs. This multi-role capability helped keep the Axis running in Africa when other supply lines were cut. In 1940, the aircraft executed one of the longest distance bombing raids of the time. Taking off from Rhodes, SM.82s flew all the way to the Persian Gulf and bombed oil refineries in Manama-a 15 hour trip of more than 2,000 miles. This limited edition kit features decals for the Manama raid and three other types.
