Hasegawa PT29 1/48 Mitsubishi F-2B Support Jet Fighter

The Mitsubishi F-2 is a support jet fighter of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force.
The JASDF has deployed the F-15J interceptor fighter to defend against threats from fighters and bombers, while the F-1 support fighter has been used to defend against threats from ships and tanks.
The F-2 was developed jointly by Japan and the United States as a successor to the F-1.

Initially called the FS-X, this aircraft was based on the F-16 and was designed using the latest technology. Its distinctive external design includes a fuselage and wings that are slightly larger than those of the F-16, a larger radome to accommodate a new radar, and a three-section canopy to protect against bird strikes during low-altitude flight.

Carbon-based composite materials, a world-renowned material in Japan, are used in various parts of the aircraft, such as the wings, reducing the aircraft's weight.
In addition, CCV technology reflecting the experimental results of the T-2CCV aircraft has been introduced, and the aircraft is the first in the Japan Air Self-Defense Force to use a fly-by-wire side stick, achieving safe and excellent flight performance.

The F-2B is currently deployed at Matsushima Air Base and Misawa Air Base, and is used as a training and familiarization aircraft for the F-2.
