1/350 USS "Fort Worth" LCS-3

This is a plastic model kit, which comes unassembled and unpainted. So glue, model paints and other basic modelling tools are additionally required.

The USS Fort Worth is a Littoral Combat Ship of the Freedom Class and sister ship to the USS Freedom, built by Lockheed-Martin. The class is a mono-hull design competing with the LCS-2 Independence Class which employs a trimaran hull design. The ships are high speed combat vessels designed for inshore operations in support of larger ships such as the LPD and LHA and LHD. These are Frigate size vessels of only 3,000 tons and are designed to make initial reconnaissance and assault of hostile beaches. The ships are modular in design and can be conformed to carry out different missions. The ships carry extensive sensors and electronic warfare equipment, 21 x RIM-116 anti-aircraft missiles, 2 x 30mm Bushmaster cannons and 1 x 57mm deck gun. These ships also carry 2 x SH-60 Seahawk helicopters and MQ-8 unmanned drones. The ships complement is just 40 officers and enlisted men, with accommodation for up to 75 mission specialists. These ships are some of the fastest in the fleet with speeds up to 47 knots on a calm sea.
