The Jolie Brise could reach a navigation speed of 9-10 knots. He became a legendary racing cutter winning the first Fastnet race in 1925, and again in 1930, among many other races. It won great fame by rescuing the crew of the Adriana in the Bermuda Ocean Race in 1932, which caught fire and got lost during the race, retiring right afterwards.
