New Tooling Added
Following the conversion of Kamikawa Maru, Kimikawa Maru and Kiyokawa Maru were commissioned as second-generation seaplane tenders in 1941 and assigned to the fleet. After arriving at Saipan, Kiyokawa Maru participated in the Rabaul invasion operation. In 1943, she was designated as a Special Seaplane Tender and incorporated into the Second Southern Expeditionary Force. Later, she was damaged by enemy attacks at Makassar and remained in service until the end of the war, which she spent in the western South Seas area. This kit features a straightforward and easy-to-assemble parts layout while accurately capturing the vessel's key characteristics. Newly designed equipment parts, including the aircraft catapult and searchlights, have been added. The model successfully conveys the fine detail and precision expected of the 1/700 scale.
Newly included full-colour painting guide
Extensive use of slide moulds for highly detailed and precise moulding
Updated outfitting parts, focusing on the aircraft catapult and searchlights

** This model kit is supplied in unassembled and unpainted plastic components. Please note that glue, model paints, and other basic modelling tools are required and sold separately.
