Tamiya 58754 1/12 RC Lamborghini Cheetah

Tamiya is delighted to announce a re-released and upgraded version of the kit recreating the Cheetah prototype, a military vehicle unveiled at the 1977 Geneva Motor Show. Originally developed through a collaboration with American company MTI (Mobility Technology International), the Cheetah project aimed to create an all-terrain military vehicle for the U.S. market. The prototype was initially assembled in the United States and later finished at Lamborghini's facilities in Italy. Unusually for an off-road vehicle, its waterproofed 5.9-litre Chrysler V8 engine was mounted over the rear axle, producing 180hp and sending power to a limited-slip differential via a 3-speed automatic transmission. Although the Cheetah never entered production, the prototype demonstrated Lamborghini's innovation and provided valuable technical experience.
