Meng TS058 1/35 German Leopard 2A4 Main Battle Tank (Ukraine)

The Leopard 2A4 is a third-generation main battle tank mass-produced by Germany starting in 1985. It achieves a high degree of balance across firepower, protection, and mobility, thanks to its Rheinmetall 120mm L/44 smoothbore gun and an advanced "hunter-killer" fire-control system. During the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Ukraine received multiple batches of Leopard 2A4s as NATO aid. To counter the dense anti-tank threats on the front lines, Ukrainian forces have implemented field modifications by equipping these tanks with Soviet-era "Kontakt-1" explosive reactive armour (ERA).

Soviet-designed reactive armour modules, originally engineered to defeat NATO weaponry, are now laid across the hull and turret of the German-made Leopard 2A4. This modification transforms the NATO tank - once characterised by its clean, sharp lines and modern industrial aesthetic - into a vehicle draped in a rugged matrix of Soviet-style plating. The dramatic combination of a Cold War Western heavy tank with Eastern reactive armour not only significantly bolsters its ballistic protection but also gives the tank a unique, visually striking battlefield appearance. For scale modellers, it has become an essential and compelling subject.

MENG will release the TS-058 1/35 German Main Battle Tank Leopard 2A4 (Ukraine) model kit. The assembled model will be 276mm long, 108mm wide, and 85mm high. This kit includes precision PE parts and provides one paint scheme. It also features precisely replicated torsion bar suspension and easy-to-assemble, cement-free double-pin workable track links.

The hybrid Leopard 2A4 - a fusion of rigorous German industrial design and Soviet-style ERA - features exquisitely replicated "Kontakt-1" ERA modules and meticulously researched real-vehicle details, bringing its unique battlefield appearance to life.
