The Transit is the name of a line of light commercial vehicles produced by Ford of Germany and Ford of Great Britain starting in 1953 for the European market. The real turning point was the Transit "Second Series" introduced to the market in 1965. The vehicle's configuration, characterized by the front engine, wide track, and low loading floor, was ideal for optimizing transport operations. The Transit was also available, a true innovation for the time, in a huge number of versions and configurations, from vans to cab-over trucks to minibuses.
