1/72 (Snap-Fit) German Infantry in Winter Uniform 1941-1945 (5 Figures)

(Type: model figures) This is a plastic snap fit model kit, which comes unassembled and unpainted. So model paints and other basic modelling tools are additionally required. This "snap fit" model can be assembled without glue.

Following their "Lightning War" victories in the West, the Germans expected that the invasion of the Soviet Union would be quick, and that the bulk of their armies could be withdrawn long before winter's cold arrived. But the autumn rains bogged down the invasion and complicated the German supply efforts, leaving them poorly prepared for the harsh Russian winter.

The few units that were lucky enough to receive winter gear in 1941 (and the majority of units in the winters that followed) were issued specialized winter clothing that included heavy wool greatcoats, scarves, gloves, and boots that blunted the worst of the winter weather.

This kit includes five plastic model soldiers armed with rifles and submachineguns. Models can be assembled individually, or combined onto the larger unit base. Includes unit flag and unit card for use with the Art of Tactic WWII game.
