Legionnaires were arguably the best trained and equipped warriors in the Roman Army. Over their tunics, they wore lorica segmental, the most advanced armour available in the ancient world. Standard weapons included the Scutum (a rectangular, curved shield), gladius (short sword) and a pilum, a heavy throwing javelin. The 35-piece kit includes realistically molded Legionnaires in action poses, centurions with transverse helmet crests and signifier, standard bearers of the Legion's insignia.
