This is a resin model kit, which comes unassembled and unpainted. So glue, model paints and other basic modelling tools are additionally required.
The Volvo Startbil (starter truck) Stb 953 was developed in the early 1950's to supplement the Dodge Weapon Carriers that had been used until then as the standard Royal Swedish Air Force tow truck. The new vehicle could handle greater tow loads and also provide electrical power while towing. In all, 100 Stb 953 were delivered from April 1954 and the last units were phased out in the late 1970's.
Used with SAAB 29 Tunnan, J35 Draken, J34 Hawker Hunter.
